Aggregate data from survey of Business Skills class migrants shows that (for arrivals after 1 July 1999):
- 83 per cent are engaged in a business;
- Each new business employed an average of 4.7 staff;
- 64 per cent of businesses had export earnings.
- 4 per cent of businesses had export earnings worth over $1 million;
- 13 per cent of those in business had an annual turnover of A$ 1 million or more;
- On average, cumulative funds transferred to Australia by principal migrants were $843,000;
- Average financial investment in the business was $325,000.

The Business Skills visa grant outcome for 2007-08 was 6565.
There are 7,500 Business Skills visas planned 2008/2009.

In 2007-08 the top 10 source locations of citizenship for Business Skills visa grants were:
China,
United Kingdom,
South Korea,
South Africa,
Malaysia,
Taiwan,
India,
Singapore,
Hong Kong and
Indonesia.
Settlement of Business Skills Migrants
- 33 per cent of business migrants settle in NSW;
- 15 per cent in QLD;
- 27 per cent in WA;
- 17 per cent in Victoria;
- Other States and Territories - less than one per cent each.
