Eligible applicants for Victorian Government sponsorship under the Skilled-Sponsored visa subclasses must have an occupation listed on the Skilled-Sponsored Eligibility List. You can view this list at http://www.liveinvictoria.vic.gov.au/visas-and-immigrating/visa-options/skilled-visa-options
Applicants ‘employability' is the most important assessment criteria. For health professionals and most trade occupations, a skill assessment from the relevant assessing authority is used to assess an applicant's employability. If you have already obtained a skill assessment it is advisable to submit this with the application as Vic Skilled Migration Unit (SMU) request this information before the application can be approved for sponsorship.
For occupations in other industries, such as information and communications technology or science, SMU seek advice from industry representatives about the strength of applicants' employability. To enhance prospects of success, include your curriculum vitae (CV) with the application. The CV should provide detailed information about skills in relation to their occupation and specialisations on the Skilled - Sponsored Eligibility List.
SMU also consider applicant's ability to successfully settle in Victoria, through evidence of their research on Victoria. The applicant must show that they have researched the cost of living and confirmed that they can support themselves and their family. Applicants may also be required to confirm their commitment to living and working in Victoria.
