Visa Extensions
Whereas the Working Holiday Maker visa was originally a once only visa, legislative amendments will mean that a Working Holiday Maker visa holder may be able to extend their stay in Australia, subject to meeting certain conditions, by applying for a further 1 year Working Holiday Maker visa.
Extending a Working Holiday Maker Visa
In a bid to stem labour shortages in regional areas, in particular in the fruit picking industry, the Government will expand the Working Holiday Maker program to help farmers get the seasonal harvest labour they need.
Working Holiday Maker visa holders who undertake 3 months of seasonal harvest work in regional Australia will be able to apply for a second Working Holiday visa. Information about harvest work opportunities in regional Australia can be found at the Harvest Trail Website.
In addition to the opportunity of applying for a further Working Holiday Maker Visa, there may also be the possibility of other permanent or temporary residency visa options available. We provide further details in our Level 1 Service.
