Employer Sponsored Online Assessment
For Overseas Skilled Workers
Australia is currently facing a skills shortage across a variety of industries. The Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) has determined a list of certain skilled occupations for which sponsorship under the Business (long Stay) Subclass 457 visa or Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) Subclasses 121 and 856 is available.
Businesses in Australia unable to meet their skill needs from within the Australian labour force can sponsor overseas skilled personnel on a temporary basis, to work in Australia for up to 4 years or for direct Permanent Residency.
Overseas workers can only be sponsored for certain skilled occupations which have been designated by DIAC. The overseas worker must have skills, qualifications and work experience in the gazetted 77.
This Online Assessment and subsequent Online Consultation and Level 1 Service advice document covers the application process from the perspective of:
How an overseas skilled worker with skills, qualifications and work experience in one of the gazetted skilled occupations would apply for a Business (Long Stay) Subclass 457 visa assuming they can meet the Basic Requirements and have an approved business sponsor willing and able to sponsor their application
OR
Overseas skilled worker with skills, qualifications and work experience in one of the gazetted skilled occupations who may already be in Australia working on Business (Long Stay) Subclass 457 visa and wanting to convert to permanent residency through employer sponsorship under the Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 121/856) .
