Employer Sponsored Online Assessment

For Business Sponsors

Australia is currently facing a skills shortage across a variety of industries. The Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs (DIMA) has determined a list of certain skilled occupations for which the Business (long Stay) Subclass 457 visa is available.

Businesses in Australia unable to meet their skill needs from within the Australian labour force can sponsor overseas skilled personnel on a temporary basis, to work in Australia for up to 4 years.

Overseas workers can only be sponsored for certain skilled occupations which have been designated by DIMIA. The overseas worker must have skills, qualifications and work experience in the gazetted occupation.

This Online Assessment and subsequent Online Consultation and Level 1 Service advice document covers how an Australian or overseas business wanting to operate in Australia can meet the requirements to apply for sponsorship approval from DIMA so as to sponsor a suitably qualified overseas skilled worker to work in their business.
