From 1 July 2007, the Migration Regulations 1994 (‘the Regulations’) are amended to effect the annual adjustment of most fees and visa application charges. The annual adjustment process is done in accordance with government policy and the Migration (Visa Application) Charge Act 1997.

From 1 July 2007 the Migration Regulations 1994 (‘the regulations’) will be amended to prevent the minister from approving sponsorships, accepting nomination or granting visas where:
adverse information is known to the department about the business background of the sponsor or prospective sponsor
or
the sponsor or prospective sponsor is under investigation for an alleged breach of a sponsorship undertaking or of a law of the Commonwealth, a state or territory.

From 1 July 2007 the Migration Regulations 1994 (‘the regulations’) will be amended to provide that:
primary applicants for a Subclass 457 visa must have a specified level of English language proficiency, except in certain special circumstances
the Minister may test the applicant’s level of English language proficiency. more
From 1 July 2007, the Migration Regulations 1994 (‘the regulations’) are amended to provide that there are no conditions on Bridging A or B visas granted to applicants for a Skilled – Independent Overseas Student (Class DD) visa or a Skilled – Australian-sponsored Overseas Student (Class DE) visa.
