Generally, only Australian permanent residents who have been in Australia for 10 years are eligible for age or disability pensions. However, the 10-year requirement may be waived if you become disabled after becoming an Australian resident or if you are covered by an international social security agreement.

You can contact the social security authorities in your home country to discuss pension arrangements and to confirm that your pension is transferable and will be paid to you if you live in Australia.
